What an incredible debate showdown between HIS and Repton Dubai!
Congratulations to Repton Team 1 for clinching 1st place and HIS Team 1 for a stellar 2nd place in our parliamentary debate competition!
Hosted as part of our EVOLV3 enrichment programme, the event brought together like-minded students from different year groups, creating dynamic teams that thrived on collaboration, diverse viewpoints, and shared ambition. This unique cross-year format added a truly special element to the day.
The talented debaters tackled powerful and timely motions on AI’s impact on jobs, teen social media use, and the ethics of animals in zoos. With just five minutes’ notice to find out whether they would argue for or against each motion, the challenge tested their critical thinking, composure, and communication under pressure — and they rose brilliantly to the occasion.
A huge thank you to Mr. Piller for designing an outstanding format and expertly organising the event, Mrs. Green from our Cognita leadership team for her impartial judging and valued support, and Ms. Harper from Repton for coordinating the Repton teams and contributing as a judge on the day.
A big well done to all students involved for making this a true celebration of debate, intellect, and teamwork!
