Our EVOLV3 workshop with The Medical Campaign was an incredible success! Students were fully immersed in hands-on, interactive sessions that brought the world of medicine to life. From using augmented reality to explore the chambers of the heart, practicing CPR, mastering suturing techniques, learning how to use a stethoscope, exploring the brain with VR, and uncovering the secrets of DNA and immunity, every moment was packed with excitement and discovery.
The day began with an inspiring talk from four recently qualified doctors – Dr. Ghazal, Dr. Jonathan, Dr. Hayian, and Dr. Shahad – who shared their journeys into and through medical studies. Their insight into the challenges and rewards of becoming a doctor gave students a real appreciation for the dedication and resilience needed to succeed in medicine.
Another standout moment was the Q&A session with Romeq G, an ex-Horizon International School student and scholar, now studying medicine and training to become a surgeon. His first-hand experiences provided students with a practical glimpse into the reality of pursuing a medical career, offering invaluable advice and motivation.
