Ryan’s Aid: A Legacy of Learning and Life-Saving Skills
On Wednesday, December 4th, Horizon International School hosted the inaugural Ryan’s Aid Life Saving Workshop in memory of Ryan Youlden, a beloved student whose passing last year deeply affected our community.
The event, held in the school auditorium, aimed to equip Secondary student leaders with first aid and lifesaving skills, emphasizing cardiac care. Facilitator Katherine Taylor led the hands-on session, which resulted in students earning a Level 2 First Aid Qualification.
Ryan’s parents, Elizabeth and Steve, attended and actively participated in the workshop, adding a personal touch to the day.
This workshop, the first of many, reflects our school values of resilience, kindness, and community, ensuring Ryan’s legacy continues as future leaders gain these crucial skills. Special thanks to Katherine Taylor for her impactful delivery.
Ryan’s Aid was a success, and we are proud of the student leaders who honored Ryan’s memory by embracing this life-saving knowledge.
