Providing the required skills to tackle the ever-changing world is fundamental to the Primary School’s approach in providing the most enriching, challenging and exciting learning experiences for every child. We are committed to developing our children to become resilient learners who understand their individual learning needs and who can independently identify their own targets in order to take the next step in their personal or academic development.

Our highly skilled and dedicated teachers fully appreciate what a privileged position they are in and what a significant difference they make to the lives of our children, on a daily basis. They expertly ensure that lessons are adapted and personalised so that each child maximises their progress and that there is the appropriate amount of stretch and challenge. All possible strategies are used by teachers to achieve this and the unique, ‘HIS learning buzz’ is palpable when walking through the learning environments.

We believe every child deserves their moment to shine, encapsulated in our school’s motto:

‘Everyone Counts, Everyone Contributes, Everyone Succeeds’

HIS ensures that a comprehensive curriculum and an enriched extra-curricular programme is available, allowing our children the opportunity to develop their unique skills and talents and have the opportunity to showcase them.

Our Primary School is divided into the two Key Stages:
  • Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and 2)
  • Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to 6)

The curriculum for the Primary School is based on the English National Curriculum, providing the required guidance and support children need to succeed both academically and socially. This is a rich blend of academic, social, physical, cultural and artistic learning opportunities, covering all the major subject content with a unique HIS focus on the skills associated with each subject, as well as activities that are imperative for holistic development.
